"Nous sommes situĂ©s Ă Montpeyroux, petit village du Puy de DĂŽme, Ă mi chemin de Clermont Ferrand et dâIssoire, en plein cĆur de lâAuvergne. Nous sommes considĂ©rĂ©s comme le vignoble des sources de la Loire. Jâai créé le vignoble en 2001, en reprenant diverses parcelles pour dĂ©marrer mon activitĂ©, car je nâai aucune attache familiale dans le vin. Nous sommes engagĂ©s en agriculture biologique depuis2009 (certifiĂ©e par Ecocert) et nous pratiquons la biodynamie depuis 2017 (le domaine sera certifiĂ© pour la rĂ©colte 2021).
2020 marque un changement important pour le domaine. Audrey, qui est ma salariĂ©e depuis 6 ans, devient mon associĂ©e. Nous avons eu lâopportunitĂ© de racheter 3.5 ha de vignes sur de beaux terroirs volcaniques, ce qui permet de nous dĂ©velopper. Le domaine fait donc aujourdâhui 11 ha. Donc en 2021, le domaine va dĂ©sormais sâappeler «Les chemins de lâArkose». LâArkose est la pierre de taille emblĂ©matique de notre village. Nos terroirs sont variĂ©s, allant de sols de cendres volcaniques, de calcaire mĂ©langĂ© de basalte, dâargilo calcaire ou dâarkoses granitiques. Les vignes sont reparties autour de Montpeyroux, du puy de Corent et autour de Blanzat.
Lâaltitude est aussi un marqueur important de nos vins. Notre vignoble est situĂ© entre 450 et 500 m, ce qui permet Ă nos vins de conserver fraĂźcheur et aciditĂ©. Notre cĂ©page traditionnel est le gamay dâAuvergne. Câest un gamay autochtone Ă notre rĂ©gion, il est noir Ă jus blanc. Nous travaillons aussi le Pinot noir, et un peu de Syrah. Nos vins blancs sont composĂ©s de Chardonnay et dâAligotĂ©. Nous travaillons aussi une vieille vigne dâun hybride Seibel 5455, crĂ©e par croisement au dĂ©but du siĂšcle pour lutter contre le phylloxĂ©ra. Cette vieille vigne est trĂšs sentimentale pour nous, car elle a Ă©tĂ© plantĂ©e par la grand-mĂšre dâAudrey. Nous faisons un pĂ©tillant naturel avec ces raisins. Au final, nous produisons 12 cuvĂ©es diffĂ©rentes, que nous vinifions toutes le plus naturellement possible."

Vinification : Vendange égrappée en totalité. Macération de 50 jours en cuve, puis élevage en Amphore de grés durant 10 mois. Pas de filtration, sulfites inf à 8 mg/l

What is an author wine?
This can be so diverse depending on the personality of their sire, that it is easier to define what it is not. An author wine is anything but a standard, stereotypical wine, made to please as many people as possible. It is therefore rarely produced in millions of copies, copying itself from vintage in vintage.
An author wine is therefore a wine that does not look like that of the neighbor. Which from year to year will evolve according to the vagaries of the weather and the mood of the author - the two that can be linked. Because the author does not rely on market studies to carry out his boat. He makes his wine as he feels, as he likes, as he can, sometimes ... and too bad if he does not please everyone.
This is why author wines are sometimes classified as "table wine" or "France wine". Because the winemaker did not plan the authorized grape variety*, makes the assembly or vinification recommended in the name **. He is often a bit rebellious, our author. But that is why we like it! ... That said, author's wines are not systematically marginal: they are present in most of the appellations, and can be part of the elite of these this***. Because they are not content to have personality: they are good, in addition! With in general aDegree of TorchabilityVery high: we never tire of it at the end of the first sip.
As author's wines are not chaptalized, levied, hacked ... They can have very different profiles depending on the vintage. It is up to us (resellers and consumers) to accept them as they are, and to remain faithful to the producers, because they need us to continue their activity.
