Features

Assemblage : 60 % grenache, 40 % tempranillo

Vignoble : taille en gobelet pour le Grenache , et palissage en double cordon pour le Tempranillo. L'âge moyen des le vignoble a 30 ans. Situé à El Villar de Arnedo et Tudelilla à une altitude comprise entre 450 et 650 mètres d'altitude.

Sols : argilo-calcaires et argilo-sableux.

Vendanges : Les raisins sont cueillis à la main. Le 5 octobre pour le grenache, le 7 octobre pour le tempranillo. Ils sont transportés vers le chai dans des caisses de 350 kg.

Vinification : les grappes sont séléctionnées sur une table de tri puis ils sont égrappés et foulés légèrement. La fermentation a lieu dans des cuves inox de 15 000 et 5 000 litres, à une température contrôlée de 22ºC. La fermentation malolactique se fait ensuite en cuve.

Elevage : le vin est entonné dans des fûts de chêne. français et américain de 225 et 500 litres où il reste 4 mois. Il est ensuite clarifié et filtré avant la mise en bouteille.

Dégustation : La robe est rubis sombre translucide. Le nez est séducteur, sur le coulis de fruits rouges et noirs, la violette, les épices douces, le moka et le cacao. La bouche est ronde, très ample, soyeuse, déployant une matière finement veloutée, caressante, qui se densifie progressivement; aboutissant à un fruit pulpeux à la mâche gourmande, renforcé par une grande palette d'épices et de notes grillées Cela se confirme dans une finale plus concentrée – mais sans dureté – avec un retour des fruits rouges / noirs et du cacao, et ces notes épicées / grillées qui persistent longuement.

What is an author wine?

This can be so diverse depending on the personality of their sire, that it is easier to define what it is not. An author wine is anything but a standard, stereotypical wine, made to please as many people as possible. It is therefore rarely produced in millions of copies, copying itself from vintage in vintage.

An author wine is therefore a wine that does not look like that of the neighbor. Which from year to year will evolve according to the vagaries of the weather and the mood of the author - the two that can be linked. Because the author does not rely on market studies to carry out his boat. He makes his wine as he feels, as he likes, as he can, sometimes ... and too bad if he does not please everyone.

This is why author wines are sometimes classified as "table wine" or "France wine". Because the winemaker did not plan the authorized grape variety*, makes the assembly or vinification recommended in the name **. He is often a bit rebellious, our author. But that is why we like it! ... That said, author's wines are not systematically marginal: they are present in most of the appellations, and can be part of the elite of these this***. As author's wines are not chaptalized, levied, hacked ... They can have very different profiles depending on the vintage. It is up to us (resellers and consumers) to accept them as they are, and to remain faithful to the producers, because they need us to continue their activity.
