Les vignes : Mauzac 60% et Len de l’el 40 %

Le terroir : sol argilo-calcaire, exposition sud, altitude 285 m.

Conduite du vignoble : enherbement naturel du rang et travail du sol entre les ceps. . Multiples opérations manuelles et mécaniques au cours de l’année de façon à obtenir un raisin aéré, sain et bien mûr avec un faible rendement d’environ 30 hl/ha.

La cave : . Récolte manuelle des raisins en petites caissettes selon la maturité optimale des différents cépages. Pressurage direct des grappes entières puis débourbage du moût uniquement par le froid. Fermentation spontanée avec les levures indigènes naturellement présentes sur la peau du raisin. . Vinification et élevage du vin sans soufre et sur lies 12 mois en barriques usagées (pour 2/3) et en cuve (pour 1/3, fermentation malolactique réalisée. Clarification naturelle sans collage. Mise en bouteille avec très faible sulfitage.

Température de service : 10 à 12°C pour laisser exprimer au mieux les qualités aromatiques et gustatives de ce vin.

Dégustation : la robe est dorée, brillante. . Le nez est fin, frais, sur le coing, la poire séchée, la mangue verte, avec une petite touche pétrolée rappelant le riesling. La bouche est élancée tout en offrant une matière ample, douce, aérienne qui caresse le palais et rafraîchit grâce à une aromatique sur l'écorce d'agrume et la mangue verte. La finale est tendue par une superbe amertume sur le pomelo et la bigarade, avec une persistance sur le coing, l'orangette amère et une pointe de gentiane.

What is an author wine?

An author wine is anything but a standard, stereotypical wine, made to please as many people as possible. An author wine is therefore a wine that does not look like that of the neighbor. Because the author does not rely on market studies to carry out his boat. He makes his wine as he feels, as he likes, as he can, sometimes ... and too bad if he does not please everyone.

This is why author wines are sometimes classified as "table wine" or "France wine". Because the winemaker did not plan the authorized grape variety*, makes the assembly or vinification recommended in the name **. He is often a bit rebellious, our author. But that is why we like it! ... That said, author's wines are not systematically marginal: they are present in most of the appellations, and can be part of the elite of these this***. As author's wines are not chaptalized, levied, hacked ... They can have very different profiles depending on the vintage. It is up to us (resellers and consumers) to accept them as they are, and to remain faithful to the producers, because they need us to continue their activity.
