L'histoire du domaine Capmartin commence en 1986 avec 1.5ha de vignes en location. Première récolte en 1987. D'une viticulture conventionnelle au début puis raisonnée et enfin sans produits de synthèse à partir de 2000, la conversion officielle à l'agriculture biologique certifiée a démarré en 2010.

Cépages : 80 % Petit Manseng, 10% Arrufiac, 10 % Gros Manseng
Terroir : Argilo-limoneux à gravettes
Vinification : Vendange éraflée, Fermentation de 32 jours thermorégulée.
Elevage : Sur lies, en cuve et 20% en barriques pendant 6 mois.

Dégustation : la robe est dorée, brillante. Le nez est fin, complexe, sur les fruits exotiques, les embruns marins, l'écorce d'agrume et une touche de fumée. La bouche éclate de fraîcheur, offrant une matière pure, ciselée, tranchante comme un sabre japonais, avec ce qu'il faut de fruit de passion et d'ananas pour ne pas rendre le vin trop ennuyeux. La finale fraîche et nette poursuit la tension de la bouche, se contentant d'y ajouter de nobles amers (bigarade, quinquina), avec une persistance sur l'ananas rôti et une touche fumée / épicée.

What is an author wine?

These can be so diverse depending on the personality of their sire, that it is easier to define what it is not. An author wine is anything but a standard, stereotypical wine, made to please as many people as possible. It is therefore rarely produced in millions of copies, copying itself from vintage in vintage.

An author wine is therefore a wine that does not look like that of the neighbor. Which from year to year will evolve according to the vagaries of the weather and the mood of the author - the two that can be linked. Because the author does not rely on market studies to carry out his boat. He makes his wine as he feels, as he likes, as he can, sometimes ... and too bad if he does not please everyone.

As author's wines are not chaptalized, levied, hacked ... They can have very different profiles depending on the vintage. It is up to us (resellers and consumers) to accept them as they are, and to remain faithful to the producers, because they need us to continue their activity.
